Tochigi Liqueur FAQs

Please let me know the best-by dates for the various liqueurs.

While aged sake and vintage liqueurs exist around the world, Tochigi Liqueur currently does not produce products intended for aging.

When enjoying Tochigi Liqueur at home, please store room-temperature products in a cool, dark place and consume them within approximately six months of opening. If you have space in your refrigerator, chilling them will help preserve their flavor longer. Refrigerated products should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within approximately one month of opening. That being said, room-temperature products can last about two years.

Where can I buy it?

We do not sell our products in liquor stores.

It is possible that some liquor stores that we previously wholesaled to may still have our products, but we no longer have a business relationship with them.

Currently, our only business partner is Musashiya, an online and delivery liquor store in Tokyo.
If you are a liquor store interested in continuously carrying our products in your shop, please contact us.

Are you exhibiting in Tokyo?

We are planning to hold two exhibitions in 2026, one in spring and one in autumn. We look forward to your participation again then.

Do you offer tours?

We're unable to accommodate that right now, but we'll hold it someday, so please wait for it.

What kind of factory is it?

This is a new single-story tenant building, completed in June 2018.

As it happened, the architect for the tenant space was a junior from my university, so we were able to have the interior custom-designed while construction was underway.

How much do you produce?

We produce small batches of about 10 units per product, and once they sell out, we restock them as needed.

This results in a stock of about 500 units across 50 products.

By producing smaller quantities repeatedly instead of large batches all at once, we gain valuable experience with recipes and can deliver fresh products.

If you request a case purchase, we will deliver a freshly made batch.

Is Yuriko Hara a bartender?

Yes. Yuriko Hara trained at Utsunomiya City's long-established "Yumezake OGAWA Pipe no Kemuri" from December 2005 and won a bronze medal at the NBA Kanto Jr. Bartender Competition in November 2006.

In August 2012, she opened "Whiskey and Fruit Liqueur BAR Fleur de Lys" and, together with her sister Ayako, offered local hospitality such as homemade liqueurs using local ingredients and local sake cocktails.

She participated in inspections of mountainous regions through industry-academia-government collaboration and in entrepreneurship seminars organized by Tochigi Prefecture, laying the foundation for her second venture.

In October 2016, she presented her liquor brewing business plan at the first Tochigi Bank Women's Business Contest, winning the 1 million yen grand prize and securing a loan.

In April 2018, she established Tochigi Liqueur Co., Ltd.

BAR Fleur de Lys is now owned and operated by her sister Ayako, a sommelier.
